Drifter, 2022

A self-led series of handwoven artworks exploring the power of visual storytelling, particularly inspired by the traditional folk crafts of Lara’s birthplace in Switzerland. Handwoven in hand dyed wool, silk and mohair.

The Drifter collection also includes; A patchwork of everything that went wrong. Pieced together from the handwoven samples and failed tests of Lara’s graduate collection, the patchwork acts as a visual sketchbook of the project’s storyline - a zero-waste textile that finds value in what was once discarded; an archive of error and evolution.
